5083 Alloy Data Sheet

Introduction

Aluminium alloy 5083 has very good weld ability and retains it's strength after welding - it is the strongest of the non heat treatable alloys.

It has exceptional corrosion resistance to seawater and marine atmosphere.

Applications

Aluminium alloy 5083 is commonly used for marine and drilling rigs. Other applications include automotive, railway, building and road construction and machinery.

Aerospace materials are covered by the ā€˜L’ series of British standards.
