In 1979, Capalex (Capital Aluminium Extrusions Ltd.) was established by two employees of a large aluminium extruder in the local area.
Having bought the smaller of two extrusion presses from this company, the founding members of the company commenced business, specialising in small, tight tolerance extrusions made to order.
Uniquely amongst extruders they offered a 'no minimum quantity' service with excellent lead times and the company has prospered using these principles ever since.
A second extrusion press and production line was installed in late 1995 and since then there has been continuous investment in equipment for precision machining, powder coating, heat treatment and testing.
In 2014 Capalex also acquired its first direct extrusion press, a new 850 metric tonne model, broadening our capability and capacity.
The company has continuously improved its machining facilities by investing in new CNC Machining Centres as and when required. We currently have many precision CNC machines as well as precision saws and will continue to increase the capability and capacity of this service.
