iSH (Industrial Solutions Hub) organised a week long event to bring opportunities in the Space Industry to businesses in West Cumbria

Capalex were delighted to be Invited to exhibit and discuss our aluminium extrusion capability to the Space sector.

The conference which took place at the Lakes College in Cumbria covered various presentations from leading authorities from the UK Space Agency, Satellite Applications Catapult, Space Skills Alliance and Nuclear Energy and Society at the Manchester University Nuclear Institute.

Topics such as The Space Sector – Viable Market, Building an R&D Cluster in West Cumbria and Translating Nuclear Expertise to Space Sector Expertise all brought about discussions regarding the transfer of skills, training, opportunities, challenges and attracting funding to work collaboratively with Universities and other organisations.

Many thanks to the large number of consultants, contractors, EPCs and leading authorities we met at the Capalex stand. Capalex look forward to the forthcoming publication from the proceedings of this weeks conference and supporting this venture by putting more of our extrusions into space for years to come….
