Staff were able to enhance their knowledge and understanding during 2 days of Aluminium training.
Capalex welcomed Jan Lukaszewski, (Technical Manager) from The Aluminium Federation just over a week ago. During a wide variety of sessions Jan was able to support the team at the factory to enhance their knowledge and understanding.
From Aluminium extraction and production through to Alloy types with individual additional elements which determines their benefits. Important information around health and safety when working around hot aluminium was reenforced to keep staff safe while at work. Other areas included Aluminium Oxide know as Alumina, characteristics around heating and cooling aluminium, annealing, anodising, advantages of aluminium packaging over plastics, weight saving over steel, conductivity v copper, ageing, range of tempers, extrusion dies, identification of extrusion defects, contamination, machinability, etc.
During the relaxed sessions staff were able to ask questions and seek better understanding from some of the issues/challenges they see and experience in their own daily work. This extra knowledge will help staff improve processes and as a result deliver improved quality products to our customers. This training is all part of the continual investment by Capalex in staff and equipment to keep continually improving.
